Rajnandgaon (BTI) – Under the guidance of Collector Sanjay Agrawal and the direction of Assistant Commissioner Yadunandan Rathore, the Excise Department in Rajnandgaon is conducting relentless operations to curb illegal liquor trade in the region.
According to information provided by the Excise Department, a significant action was carried out today, January 27, in the Chichola circle. During patrolling at the Patekohra check post, the team intercepted a WagonR vehicle being used for smuggling liquor from Maharashtra. The accused, identified as Gajendra Singh Maurya, was arrested on the spot, and the vehicle used for transportation was seized.
Upon inspection of the vehicle, the team recovered 150 bottles of orange-flavored liquor manufactured in Maharashtra, along with two cartons of beer labeled for sale in Maharashtra.
This operation was led by Assistant District Excise Officer Kusumlata Jolhe, with the support of constables Bhoj Uike, Nagesh Nishad, and Anil Sinha, along with security personnel Manish Rajak, Sunil, and Rajendra.
The Excise Department has reiterated its commitment to cracking down on illegal liquor trade and ensuring strict enforcement of laws in the region.”
