Rajnandgaon (BTI)-: Professor R.S. Khanna, a well-known and respected figure in Rajnandgaon, who served as a Commerce professor for a long time at the prestigious Digvijay College in Rajnandgaon Chhattisgarh, passed away yesterday at his residence in Wallfort City, Raipur.
He had been unwell for some time. He was the father of IPS officer Vineet Khanna, who recently retired as Inspector General (IG) in the police department in Madhya Pradesh.

Professor Khanna had earned a great reputation in Rajnandgaon and had become an integral part of the city due to his simple, affable, and sociable nature. Even after his retirement, he chose to stay in Rajnandgaon, as he felt deeply connected to the city. His son, IPS Vineet Khanna, wanted him to live with him after retirement, but Professor Khanna remained in Rajnandgaon for many years. However, as his health deteriorated, he eventually moved in with his son.
Professor Khanna had a vast number of admirers and well-wishers in Rajnandgaon, and the news of his demise has cast a wave of sorrow over the city.
According to family sources, his mortal remains will be taken from Raipur at 3 PM and will reach the Pendri-based Medical College in Rajnandgaon at 5 PM for body donation. Fulfilling his final wish, Professor Khanna had expressed his desire to donate his body for medical purposes.
