World Anthrology Day observed at DMV Rajnandgaon
Rajnandgaon (BTI)– The Department of Anthropology at Government Digvijay Maha-Viddhyalay ( DMV) celebrated World Anthropology Day under the leadership of Dr. Anjali Mohan Kodopi. This day is observed annually on the third Thursday of February and was observed this year on February 20.
It is worthmentioning that world Anthropology Day aims to raise awareness about anthropology and its significance. The celebration was not just a symbolic gesture for the academic discipline but also a moment of reflection on the role of anthropologists in addressing global challenges. The event emphasized the importance of anthropological insights in solving critical global issues and highlighted the role of anthropological research in understanding and resolving them.
At the heart of World Anthropology Day is the celebration of human diversity, encompassing various cultures, languages, and social institutions that shape human societies. In line with this spirit, the Department of Anthropology organized several activities, including a poster competition and an essay contest on anthropological life stories.
In the poster competition, students Mansi, Ritika Joshi, Ameen Sahu, and Yamuna created the best posters. The event was successfully conducted by students of the Anthropology Department. The Head of the Department expressed gratitude for the event’s success and extended best wishes for a bright future.
