Approximately 75% Voter Turnout in Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation Elections

Rajnandgaon (BTI)-Polling was conducted peacefully today in all 51 wards of Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation, the only municipal body in the district, across 155 polling stations. According to official figures, approximately 75% voter turnout was recorded. After meeting party workers and leaders following the voting process and visiting various booths throughout the day, BJP’s mayoral candidate, Madhusudan Yadav, claimed a significant victory.

It is noteworthy that Madhusudan Yadav actively visited various polling stations and wards in his constituency since morning, encouraging party workers and requesting citizens to support him. In the first phase of his tour, he covered rural wards such as Haldi, Singdai, Mohad, Mohara, and Nandai. Later, he moved towards labor-dominated areas like Shankarpur, Tulsipur, Chikhli, Kaurinbhatha, Pendri, Station Para, and Gauri Nagar. In the afternoon, he extensively toured the densely populated central areas of the city, continuously meeting with party workers and residents.
Expressing gratitude to the voters for peaceful polling, Yadav stated that citizens enthusiastically exercised their democratic rights, demonstrating their faith in democracy. He extended his heartfelt thanks to election officials, police administration, and all officials and staff involved in conducting the electoral process successfully. He also expressed appreciation for the support and cooperation of the citizens.
Apart from Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation, elections were also held today in 24 wards of Dongargarh Municipal Council across 35 polling stations, 15 wards of Dongargaon Municipal Council across 15 polling stations, 15 wards of Chhuriya Municipal Council across 15 polling stations, and 15 wards of Lalbahadur Nagar Municipal Council across 15 polling stations. In total, 120 wards had 235 polling stations.
The elections were conducted for one mayoral position and 51 ward councilor positions under Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation. Throughout the entire election process, no untoward incidents were reported from anywhere in the district, and the urban body elections were celebrated like a festival.
