The World Buddhist Association – Chhattisgarh State Chapter has announced a year-long celebration to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Indian Constitution and the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The campaign, themed “Constitution Protection and Social Justice Year,” aims to spread awareness about constitutional values and promote social equity through seminars, cultural programs, and grassroots outreach.
The celebrations will commence with a three-day inaugural event beginning on April 20, 2025, in Jhitharatola village, Chhuria block, Rajnandgaon district. A grand felicitation ceremony will be held on May 18, and the closing ceremony is scheduled for May 31, 2025.
Former Chief Minister and current Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, has been invited as the Chief Guest for the inaugural function.
In a recent meeting, a delegation from the World Buddhist Association led by State President and National Secretary General Gautam Kande Bauddh met Dr. Singh to discuss the upcoming campaign and formally invited him. The team presented him with a copy of the Indian Constitution, a portrait of Dr. Ambedkar, and a memento and bouquet in a gesture of honor.
The delegation included key representatives such as Krishnakumar, Birjhuram, Ramswaroop, former Sarpanch Bholaram Panchare, and Shubham Kande.
During the April-May 2025 campaign, multiple public awareness sessions, symposiums, cultural events, and social justice dialogues will be organized. The initiative will involve Buddhist monks, Ambedkarite organizations, lawmakers, ministers, community leaders, and civil society groups to promote constitutional literacy and equality.
The announcement was made through an official press release issued by Kishore Khobragadhe, State General Secretary of the World Buddhist Association.
