Rajnandgaon (BTI) – The Rajnandgaon Excise Department is continuously running campaigns to curb the illegal liquor trade. As part of this effort, on the night of Sunday, February 2, the department carried out a major operation near Lamnadhaar village in the Dongargarh police station area and seized 15 cases of illegal liquor from a car.
Under the guidance of Rajnandgaon Collector Sanjay Agrwal and the direction of Assistant Excise Commissioner Yadunandan Rathore, the excise team confiscated country-made plain liquor that was being smuggled from Madhya Pradesh. During the search, 15 cases of illegally manufactured liquor from Madhya Pradesh were found in a Maruti 800 car. However, the accused managed to escape under the cover of darkness and dense forest, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.
A case has been registered under Sections 34(2) and 59 of the Excise Act in this matter. Sub-inspectors Rajkumar Kurre, Lalsingh Rajput, Anil Sinha, and Bhojraj Uike played a crucial role in the operation.
