District Congress President demands stern action against the responsibles.
RAJNANDGAON (BTI) – The recent revelation of hidden cameras being secretly installed in washrooms at a medical college by the security personal in Rajnandgaon has sent shockwaves across the region. This alarming incident has not only raised grave concerns about privacy violations but also highlighted serious lapses in campus security.
This has outraged students, parents, and civil society groups alike. Experts warn that such acts can lead to severe emotional and psychological trauma for the victims, apart from legal ramifications.
The matter has quickly escalated into a political controversy, with the local Congress unit seizing the opportunity to target the BJP-led state government.
“This incident is a glaring example of the government’s incompetence and apathy toward critical issues like women’s safety and privacy,” stated the Congress president urban Mr.Kulbeer Chhabra.” We demand a thorough investigation and strict punishment for those responsible said he while organizing a press conference in Press club.
Singh stated that students immediately informed the principal about the incident, but the college principal only wrote a letter to the dean of the medical college hospital two days later. Singh also expressed his dismay at the silence of local MLA Dr. Raman Singh and BJP leaders, despite being aware of the incident.
“This despicable act raises serious concerns,” Singh said. “How long has this been happening? How many videos have been recorded, and have they been sold or used for blackmail?” It is unclear how many individuals from Metas Company deputes as a security agency in medical college are involved in such activities.” Singh condemned the inaction of BJP leaders, highlighting that the incident took place in Dr. Raman Singh’s constituency.
“When it comes to protecting the honor of daughters and daughters-in-law, such issues must be addressed with urgency and seriousness,” Singh asserted.
The City Congress President also criticized the incomplete inauguration of the medical college, which, according to him, lacks proper security measures. He blamed Dr. Raman Singh for being inattentive to the needs of his constituency, alleging that issues like liquor and corruption are prevalent under his watch.
Singh also pointed out that Metas Company, which oversees many employees at the hospital, has already developed a bad reputation for mistreating its workers. He demanded an investigation into other possible hidden cameras across the hospital premises, declaring that such incidents bring disgrace to the city.
A memorandum will be submitted to the Medical College Dean and the Superintendent of Police, demanding a high-level probe into the incident. Present at the press conference were former Chhattisgarh Tourism Member Nikhil Dwivedi, City Congress Vice President Vikas Tripathi, Mohammad Yahya, South Block President Suryakant Jain, Mohini Sinha, Jyoti Sharma, Rishi Shastri, and Purnima Nagdeve.
