Municipal Commissioner Mr. Atul Vishwakarma carried out an inspection across various areas including Mamta Nagar Colony, Gol Bazaar, and Tulsipur to assess the city’s sanitation management. During his visit to Mamta Nagar Colony, he reviewed the cleanliness of streets, neighborhoods, and parks, and urged residents not to dispose of waste in drains or on roads. He also directed officials to prevent the flow of dirty water in public parks and to maintain overall hygiene.

In Gol Bazaar, the Commissioner emphasized the need for enhanced cleanliness and instructed authorities to ensure nighttime cleaning operations. He advised fruit and vegetable vendors against using plastic carry bags and instructed them to dispose of waste only in designated garbage vehicles. Additionally, he reviewed the ongoing construction of a modern public toilet and instructed Sub Engineer Mrs. Pinky Khati to expedite the work while maintaining quality standards.

As part of the drive, the municipal team took strict action against those using banned plastic and storing debris improperly. Raids were conducted in the Tulsipur, Mamta Nagar, and Motipur areas, where approximately 3 kg of plastic carry bags were seized, and fines totaling ₹5,400 were imposed on ten shopkeepers. In separate actions, penalties of ₹1,500 and ₹3,000 were levied on individuals in Junihatri and Loharpura for leaving building materials on the roadside.

Commissioner Vishwakarma stated that the use of plastic adversely affects the environment and animals, while roadside debris hampers traffic movement. He appealed to citizens and shopkeepers to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness, refrain from dumping construction waste on roads, and avoid using banned plastic materials. Non-compliance, he warned, would lead to fines and confiscation.
