As part of the Disha Darshan exposure initiative, District In-Charge Secretary Shri Jay Prakash Maurya today flagged off a bus carrying 100 women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of the Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district on an exposure tour to Andhra Pradesh.
The group will stay in Andhra Pradesh until April 15, 2025, during which they will explore successful women-led ventures and significant cultural and educational sites in Visakhapatnam.
A key highlight of the tour will be a visit to the Jagananna Women SHG Mart located in Malkapuram city, a model initiative in economic empowerment of women through self-reliant enterprise management. In addition, the women will also tour notable attractions in the region including:
- Kursura Submarine Museum
- TU 142 Aircraft Museum
- Kailasagiri Hilltop Park
- RK Beach
- Rushikonda Beach
This exposure aims to inspire and educate SHG women on entrepreneurial success stories, empower them with new ideas, and provide motivation for community-led growth through self-reliance.
Present at the flag-off ceremony were:
- Superintendent of Police Shri Yashpal Singh
- Divisional Forest Officer Shri Dinesh Patel
- Zila Panchayat CEO Sushri Bharti Chandrakar
- Additional Collector Shri Vijendra Patle
- Along with other senior district officials
Such initiatives are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to empower rural women, provide them with broader perspectives, and integrate best practices into local SHG operations.
